Well, she's back, the High Priestess of Soul..and she's talking about Nina Simone! (badum tish) That's right, we're graced once again by the fabulosity of the wondrous Bella Heesom and picking up where we left off at the beginning of the fame years for Miss Simone.

We cover Nina's tireless work in the civil rights movement, her terrible marriage to all-round shitbag, Peter Stroud, and the tragic slide into mental health difficulties. Trigger warning, there is some pretty real stuff in this episode, which covers physical, sexual and mental abuse.

However, we try to keep things as light as we can along the way, covering such topics as a Tellytubby Reboot, the little song Tom's Casio used to play and the awkward outcomes of not listening to lyrics.
